Our Summer Vacation

This has been our summer project! Luckily for us out projects turned out successful. At our Lemhi County Fair, Brie won the Grand Champion steer, Ty won the Reserve Champion Steer, and Kendall was right behind in 3rd place. (Then Bryant's niece won 4th.) We felt really good about all of that. It made all the work and tears worth it. And it is a lot of work! This is Ty's 6th year doing this. It is Kendall's 4th year. And Brie's 2nd year. The kids have taken some of the money they've earned and bought heifers so they have their own herd of cattle. We have enjoyed quite a bit of success in the 6 years we've been doing this. We've taken a few steers to the State Fair and not done as well there. But there's some kind of a steer/cattle showing bug and we've caught it. Now we're looking forward to next year!

Glenn Family updates

It's been a busy month! Kaleb turned eight in May and was baptized on June 6th. Mom and Dad, Clay, KayDee and LaDonna's family all came to Washington to celebrate with us. It was great having them all! Kaleb was still in school, but we were able to get out and do some shopping and play in the ocean. The weather was beautiful! Hardly any clouds and we went 29 days without rain!Yes, a record. I guess Idaho was getting it all for us! My kids were so glad to see their cousins again! Kaleb finished 2nd grade on June 16th and is still pretty disappointed that he can't be in school over the summer. Kaleb and Florence have been in swimming lessons this last week and loving it! Finally they are happy to be in the water without crying hysterically. Steve started working again with his previous company through a temp agency, so for at least four months he's got work. We'll see what the Lord decides to do with us after that. Adelle is growing fast and works her way around the room somehow. I think she'll start crawling pretty soon. She took her first fall off the bed today while playing with Kaleb and florence. In an effort to not repeat everything here, you can check out our blog at www.glennfamsunshine.blogspot.com Hope that everyone enjoyed the Robertson Reunion, sounds like ya'll had fun. Hope that all is well and have a great summer!

small world

We went camping over memorial weekend to Baumgartner campground. It is a beautiful place just outside of Featherville, which is near Pine.
We had just gone on a little hike, and we passed some folks that were on the trail and one of the ladies looked familiar to me, but I didn't think much about it.
As we reached the bottom of the trail I saw an older gentleman sitting on a bench with the lady that looked familiar to me. I knew immediately that he was one of Grandpa's brothers. I knew Ezra was still alive, but couldn't remember anyone else. I went over to them and asked them if they were Robertsons, I told them who I was and sure enough it was Lamar and his wife and 3 daughters with their families. We visited with them for about a half hour of so. They were staying in one of their daughters cabins in Featherville. One of thier daughters had 2 sons named Colton and Caden...same as me.
You just never know who you will see roaming in the mountain trails.

Love,
The Hammer's

Thanks Grandma!!!

Nate turned 16 in January and we made a deal that his first date would be with me or one of his grandma's and double with Rhett and I. (I wanted to make sure he knows how to treat a lady. Thanks for the great idea Natalie!) He decided quite a while ago he would ask Grandma Robertson and we would go on a double date.

Well last night we finally went and we had a great time. We went to Johnny Carino's for their Mother's Day Deal and it was really nice. We had a little wait, but we had a great time visiting and Grandma shared some wonderful stories from the wagon train. She had spent the day reading about their experiences and reminiscing.

I think Nate passed, he was quite the gentleman and even got a big hug from his date, before and after the date on the doorstep!

I have several sweet pictures of Grandma and Nate together, they have had a lot of fun together and we are so grateful for the blessing it is to have her in our lives! We love you Grandma!!!
What I love the most is Grandma's laugh, her laugh has always been contagious, when she laughs, everyone laughs. What I didn't realize is how much Donean's laugh was just like Grandma's!! How fun it is to be with her! I felt like last night Grandma Judy was there laughing and enjoying the night along with us, I could hear her laugh inside Grandma's laugh. It was awesome! Thanks for a great night!
Happy Mother's Day tomorrow Grandma and all the Mother's, especially our angel mother in Heaven, we miss you and love you so much Grandma Judy!!!!!

Trip To Southern Utah

I had to go to St. George for a work visit, so we made a trip out of it to get out of the cold. We spent three days riding 4-wheelers and took a drive to the grand canyon and through Zions on Sunday after going to the Apple Valley Ward in Hurricane. By the way - Stir the Pot is none other than the Justin Judy family - we like to mix things up every once in a while.

You should have seen the heel clicker Grandpa did on our "Moablike" ride.

Overlooking St. George.

This is how our trip to the north rim ended. Just so you all know, they don't open the north rim until May 15th. Jacob's Lake is really pretty though.

We crossed the Virgin River 23 times one direction and then 23 more time coming back! This is South of Zions close to Mt Carmel.

This was the toughest climb out of the river. This is as far as grandpa made it. It was fine until a group of at least 60 4-wheelers came through and dug some pretty good trenches.

Beautiful scenery!

Brinly found a cactus that didn't have needles so she decided to roll around in it. It turns out it had needles and Carleen pulled needles out of hands and belly for about an hour.

This is a cinematic masterpiece. This is at the sand dunes outside of Hurricane.

Grandma's unofficial Update

Hi! It's fun to see everyone and hear how you are doing. This has been a busy year so far. We got grandma hearing aids, new glasses and a perm so she could go to Texas and Washington with Dell and Doyle. She is enjoying hearing. She was asked to speak in Relief Society the other night for the R. S. B-day party. You all would have enjoyed her antics and the story of her life - complete with hats. She is in good health and enjoys the people of the ward. They are all very sweet to her. She was just called along with Sister peterson to teach the 7 year olds. It has been an interesting two weeks for her. She forgot kids could wiggle that much and need that much attention -- all of them --- at once. She always seems to be gone -- either to the temple, to "Super Sisters" (a group of women that get together to visit and have lunch) or to Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
We'll have to get some pictures. We'll be sure to get her over here to enjoy your messages and pictures. Lots of fun guys.
